The Screens Clog, The Turbo is Starved of Oil and starts self destructing. When rebuilt properly and these "Turbo Screens" removed your will last for many more years!
TIP: NEVER REPLACE OR REPAIR A TURBOCHARGER IF THERE HAS BEEN ANY MECHANICAL FAILURE OR METAL DEBRIS THAT HAS CONTAMINATED THE ENGINE AS THE SUBARU TURBO WILL FAIL AGAIN MOST LIKELY ALONG WITH THE ENGINE.
We only advise Rebuilding or Replacing a Subaru Turbo if 1.) The Engine has been Rebuilt or Replaced, 2.) If the only thing that is wrong with the Turbo is that it is Burning Engine Oil.
